 DESCRIPTION  
 IPTG (Isopropyl-¥â-D-thio-galactopyranoside) is an inducer of ¥â-galactosidase activity in bacteria.  It is suitable for use with X-Gal to detect lac gene activity in cloning procedures.  This product is free of dioxane contamination.  
   
 STOCK SOLUTION  
 Dissolve 2 g of IPTG in 8 ml of distilled H2O and adjust the volume to 10 ml with distilled H2O.  Sterilize by filtration through 0.22 ¥ìm filter.  Dispense into 1ml aliquots and store at 4 or -20¡É.

 CAUTION  
 Suspected carcinogen.  Avoid breathing dust.  Avoid contact with skin and clothing.  Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.

 Store at 4 or -20¡É.  Shelf storage is O.K. for several weeks.  Keep dry, protect from light.
